[The pause gives Elizabeth a moment to catch her breath, and catch up with what she's said. She means it, of course, but she hadn't meant to let it come out now.]

I had never thought there would be someone who could understand what happened to me, who wouldn't be afraid of me, who could see past all of it. There will never be another person like you, there will never be another courtship like this one. When I thought I had lost all of that, when I thought I had lost you-- [She huffs out a breath, keeping her composure as a result.] --I knew I would never be in love again.

[Slowly Gai's expression shifts from one of surprise and disbelief to a gentle smile full of love. True, Gai smiling isn't such a foreign concept, not anymore. It's just unusual for his smiles to be as soft as this particular one is-- he doesn't often show such open affection towards anyone, even Elizabeth.]

I couldn't love anyone who wasn't you. I realize that now too. It's ironic... back at home, Inori asked me about love, and whether she was in love with Shu. I couldn't give her an answer because I didn't know what love was.

[He sits up, then leans down to brush a kiss to her lips.]

Now I do.

[Elizabeth rises up to meet that kiss, feeling almost overwhelmed by the moment. Gai's smile, his words, his eyes, everything is threatening to make her cry.]

I know. God, I know. [She presses her forehead, hard, against Gai's, as if to remind herself that she shouldn't be so emotional right now.] I spent nearly six months wondering if I would ever see the sky again, if I would ever see Paris, ever know anything else but pain and hopelessness. I think I forgot how to feel towards the world, towards other people. Thank you, thank you for giving me this, for being mine to love.

[When she meets his lips with hers, he kisses back firmly, wanting to let her know that he's right here and that he isn't going anywhere. There's a strange sort of vulnerability in this moment, one that Gai is no longer a stranger to, yet it still manages to catch him off-guard every time it happens. He's pretty sure he likes it, though. As long as Elizabeth is the one causing it, he doesn't mind at all.]

I wasn't sure I could feel anything towards other people like this until I met you. As far as I could tell, that was something that had been broken out of me a long time ago. I wasn't even surprised when Inori chose Shu instead of me... especially not when she said it was because of how human he was.

Turns out it was for the best anyway.

[She laughs thickly, stroking his cheek with some urgency. As though wanting to convey that she was there too, that she would never choose anyone else to give herself to.]

One not-quite-human for another. I think that about evens it out. But if you want my honest opinion... [She slides her hand down to give Gai's length a quick squeeze.] I'm not certain anyone so normal or average could satisfy me anymore.

[That draws a low, pleased growl from Gai, and he arches into her touch with a smirk. He's quite ready for things now, as she can no doubt feel, hot and hard and wanting.]

Keep that up and you're going to make my ego even worse than it already is.

[He's both joking and being completely honest at the same time.]

But your confidence is what first drew me to you. [She shifts her hips and settles into a wider stance. She's ready too.] Why wouldn't I feed a fire that keeps me warm? [Grinning, Elizabeth noses at Gai's neck and nudges his hip with her knee.]

Judging by the sounds you were making, I'd say it was doing a lot more than just keeping you warm.

[And because two can play at that game, he slips his hand between her legs, finding her entrance and letting the tip of his finger slide in just the tiniest fraction.]

[When Gai puts his fingers back between her legs, Elizabeth expects more teasing. Feeling Gai start to press into her starts a shudder and gasp reaction. Yes, Gai did keep her warm. He kept her permanently set aflame, but that was one definition of 'warm'.]

Gai... [She thinks she's going to kiss at his neck, but the motor commands aren't coming to her. So she just hangs there, forming a sentence.]

You've played with me so much-- please... I want to be as close as I can be with you.

[Truth be told, he's so worked up by now that too much teasing isn't something he could really bear either-- not that he'll say so. But Elizabeth might notice the hint of relief that crosses his face when she asks for him... not just his fingers, but all of him.

He lets his hand linger where it is for just the slightest moment longer before withdrawing it and leaning down to give her another kiss, since her own motor functions seem to be somewhat stuck thanks to that hand.]

Hold on.

[He hates to have to move away from her, but he needs to sit up so that he can get the condoms out of the nightstand drawer. To his credit this time, he manages to open the wrapper and get it on without almost slingshotting it across the room, though he can't quite stop himself from joking about that little incident.]

Looks like this one wasn't fast enough to get away.

[And, of course, Elizabeth laughs at Gai's joke. It had been funny, even in the moment, to watch Gai's face as he fumbled with the rogue condom. But part of her is glad that there isn't going to be a delay while Gai opens another one. She lays back as he puts it on, watching how his hair falls with great fondness.]

What are you feeling like, now? [She tilts her head as she watches him.] Slow...? Or am I just too much to resist right now? [Again, she bumps him with her knee and grins.]

[Gai turns his head just a bit to the side to look at her as he finishes rolling it on, his smile evening out into something softer and less mischievous. It had been funny; even he can't deny that. Slightly embarrassing, but no less amusing. Not that he wants a repeat performance of that, though.]

You were too much to resist the moment you told me you wanted to come over. I've been turned on and wanting you ever since then.

[Now his grin does change, becoming a little more devilish.]

That's why I took my boxers off before you even got here.

Ahh... [Elizabeth blushes and grins. The thought of Gai walking around without underwear on is... very appealing, strangely enough. Elizabeth finds her mind wandering to the possibilities presented by not wearing undergarments. She could have literally reached out and squeezed Gai through his pants.]

[She bites her lip, trying to control that thought.] Then far be it from me to keep you waiting on my account. Go on, Gai... [Elizabeth reaches down and delicately spreads herself open.] Fast and deep. I want to feel it in every bone in my body.

[If she were to ask him, Gai would be all too happy to go commando more often exactly for reasons like that. It's not the first time he's done so, but that doesn't make it any less exciting to him, especially not when he's choosing that option in anticipation of things happening. Maybe even things happening in semi-public places...

The thought sends a shudder through his body-- Elizabeth isn't the only one letting her mind wander to possibilities for future fun. But he's jerked back to reality once he realizes just where Elizabeth has her hand and what she's doing with it and... oh. Now he's shivering again, this time out of pure need as he scrambles to position himself between her legs.]

All of it at once?

[He wants to, God, does he ever want to. At the same time, though, he wants to be sure that she feels she can handle it before he just goes for it. Causing her any pain is the very last thing that he wants.]

[She wants it all too, of course. But now she's giving some pause because, well, it's been a while. She knows Gai will blame himself if she shows any sign of pain.]

Slow for the first few moments. Then harder. I want to see what you look like when you're pushing into me hard and wild.

[Gai isn't sure if his mouth has actually fallen slightly open or if he just feels like it has. This is an impressive evolution - from a shy, slightly hesitant young woman who had never even seen a naked man before to a confident tease who is telling him exactly what she wants him to do to her - and the only thing Gai can think about it is that is goddamn sexy. In less PG-rated terms, but the sentiment is the same.]

I'm not sure whether I've been a terrible influence on you or the best influence ever.

[He leans down to purr against her ear as he gets himself into position:]

Do you have any idea how much hearing you say things like that turns me on?

[There's no doubt in Elizabeth's mind that Gai has been a terrible influence. And so she laughs again and threads her fingers into Gai's hair as he comes down to her ear. The words, again, are like a warm current through her, and she twists under Gai pushing her ear further towards his mouth.]

Well I don't say them for my own benefit...

Could've fooled me.

[He's pressed right up against her opening now; when he says this, he gives a slight rock of his hips, not enough to push inside but enough to make it feel like he's about to. Her fingers in his hair earn a low hum of pleasure, and he's all too happy to oblige her by brushing his lips against her ear, his breath hot on her skin.]

[The moment Elizabeth feels that press, there's a sharp cry of anticipation followed very shortly by a moan of disappointment. She was all ready too!]

Gaiii...! [She whines, pulling on his hair a little. The near-brush with penetration, more of Gai's voice in her ear and breath on her skin, it's driving her to absolute desperation.]

How can you wait like this, it's torture...!

[Gai can't help but let out a slight chuckle at her reaction and that tug to his hair, even if it's killing him just as much as it is her. Not just pressing all the way in took most of his willpower right there.]

Because it feels that much better when I finally do this.

[And this time he does push in with a single smooth slide. There's no hesitation, no checking to see if he's going too fast, just a roll of his hips that buries him deep within her slick heat and drags a gasp from his own lips in the process.]

[That is certainly a surprise.]

[Elizabeth's eyes go wide and her mouth stretches open in shock. She hadn't expected Gai to go so fast. It doesn't hurt, though, so Elizabeth comes back to herself enough to ease her grip on Gai's hair and shoulder.]

[A second after she processes Gai inside of her, she lets out a long breath she had been holding since Gai spoke. It's a shudder combined with a near sob because finally, finally, they're as close as they could be.]

[She lays there and catches her breath for a moment. In and out, facilitate the stretch...]

[Now Gai does freeze and pull back to look down on her, concern etched on his face. That sound was... not entirely encouraging, and for a moment he's honestly worried that he might've hurt her by entering her so fast and without any warning. But she also loosened her grip on his hair rather than tightened it, so he really can't tell if that was a good sound or not.]

Are you okay? Did I hurt you?

[He would feel like the worst person in the world if the answer was 'yes.']

No! Gai, I'm not that breakable! [Elizabeth laughs, though it may be a little strained. She isn't in pain, per se, but she's still adjusting. There's an uncomfortable stretch happening, but she's still arching an eyebrow up at him.]

You worry too much about hurting me during this. I'd tell you if it hurt, I promise.

[That laugh is what finally prompts him to lift one hand up to stroke her cheek, smoothing a few stray strands of hair out of her face. If she's laughing, she's okay. Not 100% comfortable, perhaps, but there's no pinch of pain to her features and she's not trying to push him away. Adjusting he can deal with.]

You'd tell me, and you'd hit me. There wouldn't be any question about that much.

Right in the nose. [She grins and demonstrates with a slow and soft swing to Gai's jaw.] Or maybe I'd just grab your bedside lamp.
