[For about a minute and a half, Elizabeth can't do anything but breathe heavily and stare blankly at the ceiling. That was over very quickly, by their standards, but it felt good. She wouldn't want it to be their usual thing, but feeling Gai as such a strong presence over her felt reassuring in a strange way.]

[Once she's come back down, she reaches up to thread her fingers through Gai's hair and attempt to nudge him down to her. She needs to hold him now, she wants something soft and quiet to follow what she feels was a terribly emotional moment for her.]

[He shifts easily, settling down so that he's atop her with his weight resting on his elbows. The act was short yet intense, and he's still getting his own bearings after what they'd just done. Not that he didn't enjoy it, of course. He loved the intensity and the pure, raw passion of the moment.

But now it's over, and that passion has ebbed and shifted into something soft and tender, and cuddling sounds like the perfect thing right about now. He lets her guide his head down, then moves it the rest of the way so that he can give her a soft kiss and just let his lips linger against hers.]

[And she keeps pressing her lips, firmly, against his until she has to breathe. But she holds that moment as long as she can, even if she feels spent and weak under Gai. The depth of feeling is still in her heart, and this way she can convey it without moving too much.]

I needed that.

I think we both did.

[He separates long enough to breathe and to say that, then presses his lips to hers again in another kiss. He doesn't want to pull apart, not yet, not when their emotions are still running high.]

It wasn't too rough?

[Even though she'd said she'd tell him if it hurt, he just wants to make sure.]

[Truth be told, she doesn't want to pull apart either. She's happy right where she is, kisses and all.]

No, Gai. But I wouldn't get much rougher, otherwise I'm likely to jitter apart. [She chuckles into his mouth and puts another kiss on him.]

[Gai murmurs a laugh right back against her lips and moves his hand up to stroke her cheek with his thumb.]

If you ask me, I thought it was pretty hot just the way it was. The view was a nice bonus.

[Yes, he just went there.]

Mm, I'm starting to notice you have a bit of a... 'thing' for me showing off a little. [She grins--apparently she's going there with him.]

[Gai just chuckles again.]

What can I say? I like seeing what you've learned in your free time. Of course, it's only fair if I show off for you in return...

Well, it isn't as though I have to engage myself all the time. [She grins and puts another kiss on Gai. If she needed him so badly, she knows she could just ask.] But my hands do wander sometimes when I'm just laying in bed at night. I'm curious.

[Elizabeth bites her lip and her eyes flick downwards towards below Gai's waist.] I might like that...

[Oh, he likes that thought a great deal, as he will let her know with a slightly more hungry kiss.]

I'd be lying if I said there aren't points where I need to go take care of business myself-- usually after thinking about you.

[Now he lets his voice slide down into something more akin to a purr.]

And I'm always thinking about you when I do.

[And she likes that thought a great deal.]

[She curls her fingers into Gai's hair as they kiss. She uses that grip to keep Gai close when he speaks, because she knows she'll want to kiss him again when he stops. And lo and behold, she does.]

I think about you too, I have dozens of fantasies. [Which is a little embarrassing to admit, and she lets out a nervous little giggle.]

[It doesn't come as a surprise to Gai - he has more than his own share of fantasies about her too - but his eyebrows go up a little bit, intrigued and pleased that she feels comfortable enough to admit this to him.]

Want to share any of them? We might be able to make them a reality.

[It's an exciting thought, as far as he's concerned.]

Oh, but they're all silly. [She laughs, a little more openly, but she's blushing and looking away. Maybe she's not entirely comfortable admitting all of them, but she did open the door.]

They're just things like... imagining what it would be like for you to recite love poems or Shakespeare to me. Making love in Paris, in a gigantic bed with the doors wide open so we could see the Eiffel Tower lit up afterwards. Falling in love with you again and again in different places and times.

Silly, romantic, fairy-tale type things.

They aren't silly at all.

[To Gai, they're heartfelt and sweet and romantic... more romantic than he would usually consider himself to be, but for Elizabeth, he likes the idea of doing any one of those things.

Paris might be out due to the windows into the Battle Dome simulator rooms, but love poems and Shakespeare he can do.]

If that's what you want, then I'd be happy to do some of those things for you. We can write our own fairy-tale together, even if we can't go to Paris or any other places just yet.

[That's probably the sappiest thing he's ever said, and he honestly doesn't care.]

[The reassurance that her little fantasies aren't so outlandish and laughable makes Elizabeth feel an excited flutter rise in her chest. She wraps her arms around Gai's back and buries her face in his shoulder with an almost shy, excited giggle.]

Yes, that's what I want. [Her smile and tone sobers a little.] I know it isn't going to be perfect all the time, but I want something idyllic sometimes. Something that I've only read about.

[Gai returns that embrace as best he can from his current position without resting his weight on her, just holding her close with a quiet smile. He's still getting used to the idea of even being able to have a future at all; it's as strange and new and exciting as it is frightening to him.]

I think it's much better if it isn't perfect all the time.

[Elizabeth considers this for a moment, then nods. It would be strange if everything was perfect all the time.]

We've both lived with a lot of imperfection... that's all. [She nuzzles at his neck for a moment before laying herself back down on the bed.]

And it reminds me that all of this is real, not just some dream or illusion.

[And he loves it, every perfect and imperfect moment of it, as long as they're together. As long as they can be like this, he's happier than anything he could ever have wished for.]

Please. I'm too strange to be anything you could dream up. [She reaches for his hand so she can hold it, reassuringly.]

I know. That's what makes you perfect.

[He just gives her hand a squeeze in return.]

[That's a compliment that has her giggling again, and squeezing his hand back.] You're perfect too.

...I got a nice view myself, you know. It takes a lot of muscle to hold me up like that. [And she bites her lip again to try to stifle her giggling.]

[Oh, now he's beaming, because he is rather proud of his body... not that he'd say so unless it was brought up, as his physical fitness is ultimately born from practical purposes.

Her giggling is cute, though, as is the way her eyes are wandering towards his abs.]

You should come watch me work out sometime if you liked it that much. I'll even leave my shirt off just for you.

Gai! [Elizabeth smacks his elbow playfully.] I can't be that shameless, not in public! [Though really, from the way she's laughing she doesn't seem that adverse to it at all...]

[That draws a laugh from him too. 'Shameless' is not a word in Gai's vocabulary, really.]

I never said the shameless part would be happening in public.

You and I have a different idea of what constitutes 'shameless', I know that much from experience.

I can't be salivating all over you in public, it would ruin that aloof image you give off.
