SIX + Action / Voice

[VAGUE SPOILERS FOR 'BURIAL AT SEA' BELOW]

Elizabeth Comstock, you have been tried and found guilty of leading this man to his untimely death--

[Booker sits in the gallery, staring coolly back at her, and Elizabeth feels both wet and cold. And bloody--there's blood all down her front. But she doesn't feel shock or even surprise. She knows why it's there, she just can't see the memory. Every time she reaches for it, nothing happens.]

[Words feel unsteady, and she has to chase each one and hold it, own it, before speaking it.]

I was never his! But he… he had to have me! [What choice is she defending herself for making?]

--You have therefore, been sentenced to have your head forcibly torn from your body until you are dead.

[A cord is looped around her neck, Robert and Rosalind almost waltzing around and past her as they do so. Elizabeth scrabbles at the cord as it's pulled taut by one Lutece at each end.]

But he’s right there! He’s right there!! I didn’t kill Booker, he’s right there! He’s been here the whole time! [The cord tightens, Elizabeth’s hands don’t work, her fingers can't get under the cord.] Stop pulling, stop pulling, please! I’LL BE YOUR DAUGHTER!

May God have mercy on your wicked souls, child.

[Action - Locked to Gai and BioShock Infinite Crew]

[Elizabeth writhes in bed, her breathing becoming quicker and shallow as though she were having trouble filling her lungs. And whatever she’s trying to get away from her neck, there isn’t anything there. She’s scratching at nothing.]

[END SPOILER CONTENT]

[Voice – Early, Early Morning of December 1st]

Has anyone here ever had a dream that was prophetic? I know that most dreams are a product of our subconscious thoughts, but… I had a dream and I know I couldn’t possibly have been thinking any of the things that were in it. Not even subconsciously.

I thought that maybe this could be an experiment of some kind. [Read: ‘I’m hoping this was an experiment of some kind.’]

I'm surprised I haven't had to chase more men away from you given how many of them were looking at you during that speed dating.

[He curls a little closer around her once she settles into his arms.]

Or maybe I just scare them away.
voidseeing: (Never too late)

His kitten?

[Okay, now Gai sounds... somewhat unsure. He doesn't quite know how to take that one...]
voidseeing: (Bitch please)

Hmm. And does this man have a name?

[He might just want to. You know. Check up on this guy and his relationship status and history. That's all, really.]
voidseeing: (Stray)

[It's not that Gai is trying to be territorial, it's just the idea of some strange man referring to Elizabeth as "his kitten" that doesn't sit right with him.

... okay, maybe that is being a little territorial.]

I feel like I should be asking how you even ended up seeing his muscles, unless you ran into him when he first arrived here. Not that I can blame him for complimenting you-- any straight man who wasn't blind should be doing at least that much.

[Yes, that is a little contradictory and he doesn't really care.]
voidseeing: (He's a heartbreaker)

[Okay, okay, he is suitably chastised and will behave himself. Mostly.]

No, I flirted terribly with you in the hopes of eventually having a little fun later that night.

[Hey, no one ever said Gai wasn't honest or self-aware at times.]

But I'm glad it didn't work, at least not in the way I'd been hoping for. The end result was far better.
voidseeing: (Castle of glass)

I know, and I like it better this way. It was more than worth the wait.

[Their first time had been perfect; there wasn't a single thing about that entire evening that he would change if given the chance. Save, perhaps, for the part that involved causing Elizabeth that initial brief bit of pain, but that was going to happen no matter when or where their first time took place.]
voidseeing: (A softer side)

When I first fell in love, or when I realized that's what it was?

[Because those had been two very different things, especially given how much time he'd spent trying to deny to himself that that's what those feelings were. The actual falling part had happened very quickly; it was the admitting it that took much longer.

He doesn't protest her moving their hands at all, instead just giving a little squeeze.]
voidseeing: (Okay sometimes you aren't stupid)

It was after I pulled you out of the waves at the beach. We kissed, and it finally dawned on me just why I was so afraid of the thought of losing you.
voidseeing: (Crazy 'bout a well-dressed man)

And that was one of the dumbest things I've ever done, so that makes the two of us even.

[He gives her hair a nuzzle to show that he isn't at all angry with her for it. After all, he was the one who initiated that whole mess in the first place.]
voidseeing: (Yes it's bigger than yours)

[Action]

[personal profile] voidseeing 2013-12-11 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
Heh... and to think I was worried that might be over the top. I would've given you an entire bouquet if I'd known that was going to be what made you fall in love with me.

[He's teasing, of course, but he's also sincere, because he can't imagine NOT loving her or having her love him back.]
voidseeing: (Would I lie to you?)

[Gai too takes a moment to think on this before smiling and tightening his arms around her.]

You're right. There's no point in picking all of those flowers just to let them die hidden away in a room. They belong out in the sun instead.

[And, quietly, he begins to hum a song that should be very familiar to her by now.]
