And the idea of a bath does sound nice right about now, given how sweaty and messy they both are after that little marathon. There's just one problem, and that problem involves the act of standing up when his legs still feel somewhat like Jello.]

Hm? [Elizabeth pulls herself up so she can be on Gai's level. She looks a little worried.] Are you okay? I didn't... aggravate anything, did I?

[But he's quick to reassure her, reaching up a hand to run through her hair.]

Not at all. I just got more worked up than I thought I would from watching you enjoying yourself.

Really? [She looks absolutely fascinated by this. Truly, Elizabeth thought that getting four orgasms to Gai's one was a little unfair. But if Gai couldn't walk, like he usually could afterwards, maybe he didn't need four orgasms to get where Elizabeth was now.]

[Gai has become a markedly less jumpy sleeper with Elizabeth around, something she no doubt will have noticed. In the beginning, he'd been afraid of lashing out at her out of sheer instinct, but as time had passed and he'd grown used to her presence, so too did those instincts slowly start to fade away. Now she can touch him and kiss him while he's sleeping with no fear of him panicking and thinking he's in danger.

That alone is a remarkable development for him, and one he's so grateful for.]

You know you're the first person I've ever slept with through the night.

[She smiles, and there's a slightly sad edge to it as she moves locks of his hair back over his shoulders.] I don't know whether to be happy you're so calm around me, or sad that it didn't happen sooner.

[His eyes soften, and he leans his head forward to bump his forehead against hers.]

No matter how painful his life may have been, it had led him to her, and that's something he wouldn't change for the world.]

[Elizabeth closes her eyes as their lips meet. The moment's turned a little dark, even if they're talking about finding each other and falling in love. She's still on edge, and she thinks that if she closes her eyes she'll feel some warm happiness on Gai's lips and she won't have to think about whether or not Gai would have been happier having a normal life without her.]

Someday I'll actually believe that. Now... the only thing I believe is that you could have been a beautiful boy with a childhood. [She laughs a little, sounding almost embarrassed to be admitting it.]

[As far as Gai is concerned, Elizabeth is his happiness. There's never been a question there on that end. Whether his past was fate or not is something he doesn't know and isn't going to dwell on. There's no point, not when it's over and done with. The only thing he can do now is look forward to his future-- their future.]>/small>

Then we'll just have to make sure our son has the perfect childhood in my stead.

...yes, I suppose we will. [Elizabeth smiles and reaches up to brush Gai's bangs into some semblance of order. Who knows when they'll have their son, but Elizabeth has to trust that Gai is alright where he is right now and that she's doing everything she possibly can for his emotional state. She might not believe it 100%, but she feels like she has to at least make the effort-- it seems to be what Gai wants, after all.]

Speaking of children-- [She arches an eyebrow and reaches to poke Gai's nose.] --when were you thinking about marrying me, Mr. Tsutsugami? I'm wearing this ring and I have no date to tell anyone.

[It's a valiant effort, but they're falling right back in a matter of seconds, and Gai laughs and just makes a half-hearted attempt to blow them out of his face. A bath really is called for right about now, but this is also comfortable and he isn't in that great of a hurry to get up.

That nose poke earns another laugh and a playful swipe of his tongue against her finger.]

What about May or June? I remember you saying you wanted your wedding to be outside so that you could walk barefoot in the grass. Any earlier than that and your feet might end up getting cold, and I don't want cold feet in our bed on our wedding night.

[Obviously teasing.]

Oh June! June is a good month to be married in, it's traditional. And warmer. [She grins and tries to dodge Gai's tongue to poke his nose again.] Is it going to be too warm for you in a suit, though?

I'll wear a white suit.

[Not that the heat would bother him either way after spending so much time in Africa.

This time he accepts the nose poke and just wrinkles it, grinning right back.]

I should be able to survive a few hours in that.

A white suit hm...? [She pretends to look down at him and consider the image.] Yes, I think you'd look good in white.

[He'd look good any way, of course, but...]

And here I thought you liked me best wearing this.

[A nuzzle, and then he's tickling her gently, his other arm still around her waist.]

[And if he's tickling her, obviously Elizabeth is squirming and trying to escape despite Gai holding her so close.]

You aren't wearing anything but a condom! [She laughs.] I don't think that counts as clothing!

[Gai laughs, but he will loosen his grip enough that she can get away from that tickling if she really wants to.]

Why not? It's perfectly functional.
