[Shu was stuck on a mountain for a couple of days so he looks tired. He's been trying to rest and eat healthy because he'd make people worry otherwise.

His eyes wander around until he notices a familiar face. At first, Shu's hesitant to approach Elizabeth. She saw him stab Gai and he wondered if it was okay for him to talk to her. After waiting for a bit, he finally speaks up.]

Elizabeth?

[Is she really fine with what's happened? Shu has his doubts. He's bracing himself for the worst.]

[Elizabeth is busy comparing pears when Shu approaches her--she's a little surprised to see him, but she smiles after the initial curious blink.]

Hello Shu, how are you doing today?

[Polite, if not overly warm. She still isn't thrilled about what happened the day Shu stabbed Gai, but she's making an effort for Gai's sake. And maybe a little for Shu, because it must have been exhausting constantly apologizing and berating himself.]

[His eyes widen as he stared in confusion. Shu expected her to react much differently and he wasn't quite sure what to do. Elizabeth asked a simple question so why was he so nervous?

The honest answer to that is he's not doing well. Shu didn't want to say that. Worrying Elizabeth was the same as worrying Gai and he Shu wasn't going to let that happen. Gai's had enough.

He tried his hardest to be casual. ]

I've been better. [A sigh. He's nervous and it shows.]

What are you planning on doing with that? [By 'that' he means the pear Elizabeth's holding.]

...eating it? If that's alright with you? [Elizabeth raises her eyebrows and gives a little amused chuckle. She puts three into her shopping bag.]

I'm sorry to hear you haven't been well. Is it a cold?

[Yes, she can tell that Shu is nervous, so Elizabeth is trying to be very calm. It's like trying to live around a high-strung rabbit.]

[Why did you ask that Shu? Of course she'd get a pear to eat it. He just assumed that she'd be getting it for Gai or something. Did he jump to the wrong conclusion again? He might as well be honest about it.]

I must have been thinking of something else. It's only that...Gai eats a lot so a single pear wouldn't be enough for him. [He was too nervous to be completely honest about it. It's getting there.]

Oh... [Elizabeth frowns and looks down at her bag.] Does Gai like pears? I've never seen him eat one before.

[She's shopping for both of them right now, technically, but she's also trying to get a bit more food in the house for when Rosalind, Robert, and Booker return in the next few days.]

Neither have I. [That's the truth too. Gai is such a workaholic it's a rare sight to see him sit down and relax even for meals.]

He'd like them if they were from you. Anything you choose is fine.

[He can say that much. If Gai disagrees with anything, Shu will just chew him out for it later. Problem solved.]
