[ It's late, he really shouldn't be calling anyone when they might be sleeping but he's tossed three dogs out of his room so far and it's so... weird. But Elizabeth is someone he trusts well enough even though he's known her for so little time. Hopefully she won't be too annoyed. ]
Sorry about the hour. I was just wondering if you knew why there are so many dogs around. They keep sneaking into my room and I... [ He exhales softly, unsure how to define the pit in his stomach that forms whenever he's around dogs. It's not like he ever got bit on the farm. ] I don't like them much. I don't know why they'd be on a space ship.
[It's so late, yes, and Elizabeth is already reeling from all of the changes occurring on the ship. But now Jack is messaging her at some ungodly hour asking about dogs.]
[And she's heard the audio of the last time (to her knowledge) that Jack held a dog.]
They arrived a while ago, they're just... annoying, they won't bother you. Do you need me to come shoo them out?
[Even half asleep, Elizabeth is obviously still in love with Jack and won't stand to let him be uncomfortable on the ship. Especially given she knows exactly why he's uncomfortable but he doesn't. And how can she tell him at this hour that he's uneasy around dogs because he killed one when he was young?]
Just dogs, he says. [No, she's pulling your leg Jack. ...a little.] When they're in packs, it's like they're even more annoying. Working together in one, annoying little mission.
Ain't anyone on this goddamn ship heard of fixing their damn dogs? [ Jack is 500% exasperated as there's a constant chime of cheerful annoying barks in his bunk now. ]
Come on you little pests, cut me a break. I don't wanna hurt you-
[ Is there a little too much earnestness in that statement? Probably. He doesn't want to touch them but he also doesn't want any of them to get hurt by jumping all over his weapon stash. ]
[Now that sounds like Jack's just about at the end of his rope, and that recording of Jack and his puppy... Well, she can't push it to the back of her mind now.]
I'll be right over. They like bothering me because I'm usually up to my ears in work.
[ There's another yip and presumably one of the annoying dogs manages to switch off his MID. They're awful like that.
Whenever Liz turns up the door is open and Jack is abusing his telekinesis plasmid to keep the small herd of fluffy dogs distracted. This is the best way to play fetch, right? ]
[Oh dear-- she'd better hurry. Elizabeth throws on her robe and hurries to Jack's room, guided by the sound of excited yipping. When she opens the door, she's a little startled by the blatant use of some telekinesis-- but she hasn't seen it in a while. It's fine, of course, but it reminds her about the case of Salts she has stored in her quarters. She should give it to him, given she has no use for it anymore.]
Careful, you might become their favorite if you play with them like this. [She laughs and flops down onto the ground outside Jack's door.] Come here, come on! [A couple of the dogs are super thrilled to see a human on the floor, and they run over to leap on all of her squishy areas. Which gets a couple uncomfortable 'oofs' from her.]

[ It feels so stupid now, realizing he called her to ask about dogs. What was he, some little kid? ]
...Sorry. I dunno why I bothered you when you were probably sleeping. I'll let you get back to it.

[Half true, half a lie-- she was sleeping, but she can't sleep very much recently. She's still worried about the power transition.]
Here, I'll come help you get them out. They have this... annoying habit of swarming back inside the place you're trying to get them out of.

[ Right?
Please, god. Don't let them be mutant dog monsters or something. But then there's a distinct annoying bark in the background. ]
How did it even get in the vent-
