Any world in which I existed first would see her overlooked. That was part of why I crossed into Columbia, rather than her joining me. She had made her name there, earned her respect. A world in which I had first made my name would tack her brilliance to mine.

And in the worlds where her name was made... it is connected to Comstock. To destroy Comstock is to destroy those worlds.

I'm not sure either of our egos could bear tying ourselves to a world in which we were entirely unknown.

The danger of pride, I suppose.
