[Elizabeth]
[Action]
[Elizabeth is joining the ranks of those overwhelmed by the sudden influx of people in Luceti. Really, the crowds are starting to make her feel very nervous as someone used to more open spaces and limited interaction during her errands. What's worse, her puppy Nemo keeps trying to sniff at strangers, so Elizabeth keeps apologizing as she tries to navigate to the grocery store and back.]
[Voice]
I'm sure everybody's noticed that there are tons more people in Luceti than there used to be-- what's going on? Are there even enough apartments for everyone?
[Vastra]
[Action]
[And conversely, Vastra is completely unsurprised by what's happening. Typical Luceti, after all. It's an extremely eclectic mix of people at least, and Vastra is happy to see that. Still, it does make walking around a little difficult, and ever since the Edmundo Incident she can't feel 100% comfortable just walking around unarmed. So she has her sword prominently displayed on her back when she moves around the village and observes the crowds and interactions amongst the newcomers.]
nooooo idea what I'm doing
And speaking of ice, it’s snowing. Actually snowing in October. This couldn’t be any more wrong. Oh no. Oh God, no.
He had to get back to the DeLorean, back to Doc to warn him, to save him before Doc was lost to him forever. In his fearful, all-consuming hunt for the DeLorean – and for anything familiar in his surroundings – he ends up bumping carelessly into Vastra.]
THAT'S OKAY. 8D
Excuse you. [She says, nostrils flaring slightly in irritation.]

[He apologizes reflexively, hurriedly, though he spares a second to glance over his shoulder, a hand half-raised in an awkward, please-don’t-be-mad-enough-to-smack-me-with-your-purse-if-you-have-one sort of placating gesture.]
2/3

Aaagh!
[He nearly falls on his ass while stumbling back a few steps, wondering for the umpteenth time in a week if he's dreaming. Please don't tell him he's somehow stuck in an episode of Science Fiction Theatre.]

Don't get too excited, you might just faint.
no subject
Sorry, I just wasn’t really expecting… [That’s probably not the best way to start his explanation. He peters off, his hand reaching for the nape of his neck.]
Look, lady, I... I really don’t belong here. [Wherever here is. The lack of cars in his midst isn't very encouraging.] Where am I? [And then, with narrowing eyes (and a cracking voice):] When am I?
no subject
But the town is called Luceti, and before you try walking to the next town over you should know there is a barrier surrounding it. I am afraid you are stuck here.
no subject
Ah, ah geez, I must be dreaming... [He pauses to rub at his forehead and then rake his hand through his hair while looking around. And then he turns to look to her again.]
What do you mean nobody knows where this is? There's... there's gotta be a, a map or, or something... how the hell does anyone get here, anyway? [Just by waking up like he does?]
no subject
There is a map, though. I don't have my journal on me, did you pick up yours?
no subject
Wait a minute, what journal are we talking about?
[Here’s the part where he wishes Doc were here and bringing him up to speed, or trying as much. Because even if Marty doesn't always understand what comes out of inventor’s mouth, the certainty with which the old man often spoke was vaguely reassuring at the least.]
no subject
[Vastra raises an eyebrow and looks perturbed at the many layers he seems to be wearing.] And aren't you at all uncomfortable in all of that? It's much better if you let them outside of your clothes.
no subject
[And then all of what Vastra has said sinks in and he breaks off, staring bug-eyed at her.]
Excuse me? [Marty has another super quick look at his clothes before a weak, lopsided grin quirks his lips. He shifts his weight.] Uh, no! No, I’m, I’m good – [He interrupts himself] - great, actually. Very comfortable. I like them in my, uh… clothes.
[He lets out a sad attempt at a chuckle before his smile falls, all sorts of unsure about what they’re actually talking about.]
no subject
If you're certain...
Anyway. Yes, you can communicate with everyone in the village with your journal. It should be somewhere around where you first appeared.
no subject
Right... no problem.
[He takes a breath.]
I'm kinda looking for someone and I was wondering if you've seen him -- Doc, er, Dr. Emmett Brown? He's a pretty tall guy with white, wild hair, and he's... [He frowns mid-thought, lips thinning.]
... my best friend. [He adds in a low voice, feeling a dull pang in his throat as he struggles to push away the nightmarish memory of Doc's death in the Twin Pines parking lot.]
